How to Take ScreenShots on Android Phone

Taking screen shots on Android phone can be a difficult task if you are still using android phone running on any version below Ice cream sandwich (4.0). In this post I will tell you how to capture your android phone screen or how to take screenshots of your android device.

Android 4.0 or above

If your phone or android device is running on android 4.0 or above, it is a great news! the screen shot function is built into the Android operating system. You do not need to root your phone or download any special application to take screenshots. You can take screenshots by pressing "Volume down" button and "Power" button simultaneously for few seconds. The screenshot will be saved in your gallery folder. Android phones from Samsung uses little different method where you have to press "Home" and "Power" button simultaneously for capturing screen shots.

Android 2.3 or below (Without root Access)

Well, if your phone or android device is running on android version 2.3 or below you wont be able to take screenshots until you either root your device or if you are lucky your phone manufacturer provides you with built in feature. On some Samsung phones running on android 2.3 and below you can take screenshots by pressing Home and Power button simultaneously.

You can search Google Play store for device specific apps and if lucky you can find apps which could take screenshots of your android phone without needing to root your device.

You can download use apps like Screenshot from Kastor Soft to take screenshots easily. You also have the option to install custom ROMS like Cyanogenmod in which the screenshot feature is built in.
