Nexus 4 was spotted recently showing off Android 4.3 Jelly bean operating system. The Nexus 4 was seen in Thailand Mobile expo. Android 4.3 Jelly bean is a minor update from current Android 4.2 version. The Nexus 4 running on new Jelly bean Os had repositioned camera controls, which is shifted to the side now.
Google did not release the much awaited Android 5.0 aka Key Lime Pie version and decided to keep silent even on Android 4.3 at Google I/O. This is new mute approach by Google launching soft minor updates silently without much hype and hoopla.
Android 4.3 is minor update having three main features:
- Bluetooth Smart Support
- OpenGL ES 3.0 Support
- Better API functionality for Developers
So, as an end user Android 4.2 does not bring much to the table. The major update is expected by September/October this year when Google will launch Key Lime Pie.
It is also important to understand that with they way Google applies new updates through Google Play Services, they don't need to release new OS updates for every minor/major overhaul. For example recent announced Google Music All Access, New Google Maps App, Google Play Games etc where updated through Google Play services and not bundled with new version of Android OS.
